IMM 2019 REVIEW
11.02.2019Where is the first place to look for the trends in interior design and home furnishings of tomorrow? Trendsetters and creative newcomers alike presented their innovations for the coming year at imm cologne, the international trade fair for furniture and interior design in Cologne, Germany. In our showroom at DESIGN POST, we exhibited our classic acoustic panel systems in the hottest new colors and compositions, providing visitors with inspiring ideas for their creative custom solutions. Likewise, COMPLEMENTS, our little organizational helpers, were greeted with approval. They are the perfect "complement" to our panels and offer an impressive range of features and design elements. Once again, imm 2019 provided us with an excellent venue as an inspiring backdrop to exchange ideas with customers, design planners, and potential new customers.
THE COLOR TRENDS FOR 2019
11.02.2019The scene at this year's imm was set by warm corals and softened oranges, as well as all shades of forest green in combination with a new woodland infusion using beiges and light-colored wood. A natural extension of Pantone's 2019 color of the year-Living Coral, the new reds can be nicely combined with simple accessories in black or gold. Furnishings that are completely designed using various reds are new this year, ranging from wall paint to furniture, fabrics to accessories, rugs to throw pillows. And natural materials are more popular than ever. For more coziness in the home, we see light sand colors, shades of cognac, marble, and a lot of wood, which all support the new trend of "slow living." What's more, some things never change. Greens have been a stable trend for years, bringing a gentle breeze of nature into people's homes. Rounding off the design are brass accents and many green plants.
INDIVIDUAL ACOUSTIC DESIGN
08.01.2019The demands of project business are constantly growing. Customers are no longer just looking for products to integrate into contemporary offices and improve acoustic efficiency. More and more, they demand individual solutions that can be effectively integrated into a room and noticeably improve the quality of acoustics. To this end, we need to offer planning that takes into account people's perceptions, coupled with an end-to-end product portfolio. As of this year, acousticpearls has achieved just that. Our panels can be integrated into any room, thanks to the introduction of new ranges of panels and fixtures and the continued development of our existing systems. That means: individually, as a set, an entire wall, suspended from the ceiling, attached to a piece of furniture, as a room-dividing structure, or even as a portable self-contained workstation. THE 2018 ORGATEC IN REVIEW
21.11.2018During this year’s ORGATEC, we inaugurated the HÖR MAL Acoustic Garden in the outdoor area at DESIGN POST. Our set of acoustic mirrors, which enables two people to hold a whispered conversation across a greater distance, was particularly popular with DESIGN POST visitors. The trade show may have come to a conclusion, but our acoustic garden hasn’t gone anywhere - yet. There is still an opportunity until December 6 to visit the HÖR MAL Acoustic Garden before it eventually embarks on a roadshow. In our showroom inside at DESIGN POST, we exhibited solutions to improve the acoustics of interior spaces ranging from transparent curtains to room partitioning panel systems, together with Création Baumann. Long-established systems like COLOR FIELDS, ARCHITECTS TEXTILE, and WALL COVER were presented in new constellations and the latest office colors, providing show attendees with new inspirations to help in customizing solutions for projects. There were different COLOR FIELDS combinations, a pergola of FIBER baffles, custom wall creations with WALL COVER panels of varying thicknesses, and the new EDGE panel for corner situations.

07.11.2018Every room is different. The composition of the acoustic needs is a highly complex, as sounds emanate from a wide variety of sources and as the result of different room and workplace concepts. Often, people using a room have complaints and they experience an increased level of stress, caused of unfavorable acoustics or disturbing noise. We analyze the acoustics of the room using the parameters of the room such as geometry, texture and surfaces, type of usage, occupancy, sources of sound according to current rules (DIN18041, ÖNORM B8115-3, Arrêté du 25 avril 2003, NF S 31-080). The acousticpearls-App is available for free for Android and iOS in the respective stores.

16.02.2018We also enjoy thinking and designing applications in unconventional ways, thus combining design and functionality above and beyond the linear edge. In so doing, we have expanded our WALL COVER system and brought it into the "3rd" dimension. These wall panels transmit a functional beauty to particularly large rooms and surfaces. Peering around the edge: The textile elements cover the cold corners of spaces with their 90-degree angle and absorb sound, attract attention, and even point people in the right direction. The Edge panels can also create tranquility and corners on surfaces that require them, without distracting from the clear lines or openness of the room.

The “HÖR MAL” Acoustic Garden by acousticpearls
20.09.2018acousticpearls will be presenting a spectacular acoustic garden in the outdoor area at DESIGN POST during this year's ORGATEC to demonstrate how architecture affects the acoustics of spaces and to raise awareness of acoustics in general. Dr. Christian Nocke was closely involved in the development of the acoustic garden by which a scientific approach was applied. The acoustics expert explains, "This project explores how sound is created and propagated and how it is perceived by people." This Weber, an internationally renowned designer and project head for object design, emphasizes the interactive aspect: "Visitors to the exhibit are intuitively drawn to the areas of effectiveness through the combination of shape and color, and in turn become an active part of the garden."

19.09.2018"We both endeavor to create comprehensive designs for interior spaces, incorporating solutions that improve the acoustics of those spaces." From ORGATEC 2018, Création Baumann and acousticpearls are exhibiting together for the first time in the DESIGN POST showroom in Cologne. The Color Trends
28.02.2018Casting the home in a green hue: Natural colors, in particular the color of water, set the pace at the 2018 imm. There were blues, petrols, and greens to be seen, with forays into deep dark blue right through to pine green. These colors were closely followed by reds, pinks, and purples, which also incorporated the Pantone Color of the Year "Ultra Violet." Gießen Sparkasse project
12.10.2017Gießen Sparkasse embarked on a remodeling project of the savings bank's headquarters in downtown Gießen, Germany, in June 2015. The requirements laid down for employee desks and the working environment in general were particularly high in terms of quality. The acoustics of the interior spaces were given high priority by the Frankfurt, Germany-based company MOHO1 GmbH in the course of the remodeling project. It included floor-to-ceiling WALL COVER panels in shades of gray, black, and red in an effort to visually provide texture to the different rooms within the office space and lend them a calming effect. The space is punctuated by large and small freestanding Architects Textile panels in the common spaces, offering the banking staff both visual privacy aids and increasing productivity through architectural acoustic performance management. Clamoring for Colors
19.10.2017On September 21, an event focusing on color was held at DESIGN POST in Cologne, Germany, initiated by the trade journal md and raumPROBE. The evening turned out to be a success thanks to the interesting and top-class themed presentations, informative talks, and interesting companies in attendance. acousticpearls had invited Professor Dr. Schlegel, an expert on colors from IIT/HAWK Hildesheim, to speak about the future prospects regarding the study of colors and he offered his insights in the color trends of 2018. A quaint little surprise was prepared by acousticpearls with the presentation of its story entitled "Vom Regenbogen, der die Farben wechseln wollte [The rainbow who wanted to change around its colors]."

And in our showroom at Design Post, we also presented our new FIBER SURFACE CONCEPT with its minimalist and efficient solutions for ceilings, walls, and spaces, in addition to our current acoustic panel systems. The innovative concept had already been unveiled at Orgatec. One particular highlight of the 2017 imm was the ceiling tile solutions with the innovative integration of lighting. Further, the new textile structures from Création Baumann and an expanded range of colors placed a special accent on the ARCHITECTS TEXTILE & WALL COVER panel systems. The color trends at the 2017 imm
13.02.2017imm emphasized greens in every hue this year. Different hues of green will make a foray into living spaces in 2017, ranging from a soft mint green and classy pine green to shades of taupe and petrol. This trend will be joined by bright, friendly pastel colors with a Scandinavian feel. The current selection of colors radiates a sense of coziness and an atmosphere of togetherness. Gray and earthy tones have also been specifically chosen as an accentuation. The surprise of the season was the use of red as an accent, where it appeared as intense hues of red in all shades and even in combination with pink.
Under new management
15.02.2017As of January 1, 2017, Clemens Lünig is Managing Director of acousticpearls GmbH. He follows in the footsteps of Nina Wolf and Lars Lüthje. Mr. Lünig had previously acted as Head of Sales for many years. Regarding his new responsibilities, he places particular importance on close business relationships and proximity to the customer, as in his eyes it is an aspect that has fallen by the wayside nowadays. Clemens Lünig has been in sales and marketing for more than 15 years, working with products with which he feels a certain bond. Initially he was employed by the Alape/Dornbracht Group and later moved to Alno AG.
acousticpearls steps up the pace
15.02.2017We have been expanding our sales activities in Switzerland since late-2016. Many projects with high aesthetic value have been developed under the leadership of Daniel Sturzenegger, who has worked for acousticpearls in Sales since November 1, 2016. Other important topics are the cooperation with architects and design planners, as well as the continual expansion of the retail network in Switzerland.
Project: Raiffeisenbank Regio Frick
15.02.2017Interior design firm Brem + Zehnder AG, based in Muhen, Switzerland, developed an impressive concept for the local bank Raiffeisenbank Regio Frick. Now the bank's interior spaces emanate a modern appearance while maintaining a feeling of coziness. The customized COLOR FIELDS wall panels provide more tranquility to counteract the hectic pace of the room, integrating ideally into the colorscape of the interior. ORGATEC Review: Perceptions of space
01.12.2016 Our message at this year's ORGATEC was "Perceptions of space," which we believe our exhibition booth embodied perfectly there. It was designed with the specific architecture in mind. All of the acoustics systems were integrated into the space without detriment to their specifically developed effect. Each system maintained a low profile and did not overpower any of the others, firmly demonstrating its material robustness and depth of features. Long established systems like ARCHITECTS TEXTILE and WALLCOVER were presented in a new dimension and provided show attendees with new inspirations to help in customizing solutions for various projects. The FIBER SURFACE CONCEPT caused the biggest buzz, as it offers a wide range of innovative solutions for ceiling, wall, and room applications. There were also different ceiling tiles on display, incorporating lighting, baffle solutions, custom wall creations with tiltable elements, and slender tabletop solutions. We found ORGATEC to have been a great success and we enjoyed the inspiring discussions we had with customers, planning designers, and potential new customers. The latest version of the reference book offers everyone who could not attend the event in Cologne an insight into our work and shows our "perceptions of space."

NEW: FIBER ceiling
01.12.2016 The new ceiling tile system-FIBER ceiling-was well received at the trade show. The system combines the functional aspect of improving acoustics with the aesthetics of design lighting. With the system's modular approach, the acoustic tiles enable you to use color and size to a great degree, offering a variety of options. There is one model with a highly absorbent and one with an ultra-highly absorbent rating available, into which you can integrate professional lighting, as well. buschfeld, the German lighting specialist, has designed lightlight® system sections especially for FIBER ceiling, and they can be used with all elements. FIBER ceiling is available for order starting on Jan. 1, 2017.

COMING SOON: FIBER structure & FIBER desktop
01.12.2016 This year's ORGATEC also saw the launch of two further products: FIBER desktop, a slender and very minimalist panel solution for use on tabletops, sideboards, and cabinet surfaces, and FIBER structure, the system for implementing creative wall and ceiling structures using FIBER elements. Prototypes for both systems were on display and they are now being further optimized for series production. The application options for walls and spaces will be available for order starting in the spring of 2017.

02.12.2016The immense variation in the possibilities available to designers is what gives them their freedom to design. On display at ORGATEC, acousticpearls had various textiles from Création Baumann in the ARCHITECTS TEXTILE & WALL COVER acoustic panel systems, which expand the amount of freedom you have to design spaces: flexibility in panel sizes using maximum fabric widths, fire-resistant fabrics with Trevira-Garne, and high-quality design with the expanded color range and structural diversity. The combination of different textiles within one panel situation is an exciting addition.
NEW: ARCHITECTS GLASS edition
30.11.2016As the result of our cooperation with Glas Trösch, we presented the classy laminated safety glass, which stands out as a special feature. The glass offers more depth and special feeling to the materials used through the use of exclusive colors and structures in the transparent screens. The ARCHITECTS GLASS Edition is a transparent, airy panel series that virtually floats in the room thanks to the frameless design. This panel is an optimum means to provide noise shielding and add visual zoning elements to workspaces, while maintaining the highest level of mobility and light transmission.
REVIEW: Designers' Saturday
30.11.2016More than 70 national and international brands as well as leading universities and design studios visualized ethos, values and products on six venues - at the working places of the local design industry. The Designers' Saturday was not just a product show held on characterless trade fair premises. The event was an international meeting point for the design world. acousticpearls presented the OFFICE THEATER - a perception-oriented installation about acoustics.
REVIEW: imm cologne 2016
17.02.2016acousticpearls showcased new products at this year’s imm in Cologne, Germany, that were centered around the concepts of structure and transparency. Visitors were greeted in the night blue entrance area to the exhibition floor by a structure with pastel colors created using WALL COVER panels of varying thicknesses. These colorful screen solutions, which are based on the ARCHITECTS TEXTILE panel system, are also new and have already received the 2016 ICONIC Award. The range of new products is rounded off by inspiring laminated safety glass products in a new contemporary edition. We teamed up with Glas Trösch on development of the ARCHITECTS GLASS screens and table bases to transform them into something special by using glass tinting and design structures. In summary, this year’s imm was a perfect opportunity for us to exchange ideas on design with customers, planning specialists, and new interested visitors.
Color Trends at the 2016 imm
17.02.2016At this year's imm, we focused on people's sensory experience when in a room or interacting with furniture. Colorful combinations of pastels and yellow hues, together with lush colors, are set off against floral arrangements and a variety of plants. The many different reds stick out in particular, as they harmonize with the more woody colors and warmer metal hues. The new aspect here is that color is communicated in a more straightforward manner. The push in previous years to ornamentalize the colors is subsiding. It leaves behind many accessories that play with the possibilities of designing with colors only.
A Merger to Mix Up the Color Palette

The Swiss-based textile manufacturer is famous for high-quality designer textiles and innovative acoustic solutions for use in interior shading solutions. acousticpearls will work closely with Création Baumann to strategically expand our product range. Our goal is offer architects and interior designers an end-to-end portfolio of solutions to improve the acoustics of spaces and expand our professional range of services in project support. The merger will allow us to release crucial synergies in business activities for Germany and beyond. acousticpearls will continue to operate as a separate brand.

New Project: Hager Forum
17.02.2016The architects Sauerbruch Hutton, together with their client the Hager Group, have produced an outstanding example of how corporate architecture can be in perfect harmony in the Hager Forum in Obernai, a town in northeastern France. They set about to create a platform that could best support the continual exchange between employees and partners, customers and visitors. The cube-shaped building combines wood, glass, steel, and aluminum components on 7,140 sq. meters of space, providing offices, rooms for seminars and conferences, a café, and a spacious atrium. acousticpearls panels were implemented to improve the acoustics of the atrium after careful consideration of a color concept. One special feature is the connection to the glass system walls that enable the panels to be mounted vertically as “acoustic swords.”

Multicolored award-winning screens
22.01.2016The ARCHITECTS BUILD modular system enables you to create any number of possibilities in designing spaces and implementing customized screens with several colors. ARCHITECTS TEXTILE panels can be connected one after another using specially designed aluminum fixtures, depending on your specific design needs. Project: PLAN INTERNATIONAL
30.07.2015Plan International Deutschland e.V., based in Hamburg, Germany, wanted its rooms to feature a new office concept reflecting a more open, team-oriented face and better use of available space. It resulted in an open office landscape where the various areas have been divided into zones for working, relaxing, and discussing. They work in harmony to offer people the right space for their specific needs at work. The COLOR FIELDS and ARCHITECTS panel systems improve both the acoustic properties of the rooms and provide areas for work in teams. What's more, special customized solutions were installed with interactive whiteboards.

The end-to-end concepts they offer ensure that the end result is unique by combining colors, fabrics, flooring, furniture, and acoustic elements in a functional yet modern design. ITI in Dresden, Germany, provides an impressive example of the company's abilities. ARCHITECTS TEXTILE panels were suspended from the ceiling here to create an effective means to structure the working spaces, both visually and acoustically.
The 2015 imm in Review
18.02.2015The redesigned showroom at DESIGN POST was an excellent platform at the 2015 imm for us. We had a chance to present all of our new products, including their fine details, like the WALL COVER wall panel system and BUILD, our solution for reshaping spaces, and our legendary acoustic design systems and showcase them in an architectural context. Garnering the most attention was our advance announcement of ARCHITECTS FIBER, which is an impressive panel in polyester fiber design. In summary, this year's imm was a perfect opportunity for us to exchange ideas on design with customers, planning specialists, and new interested visitors.
Color Trends at the 2015 imm
18.02.2015Cologne was abound with deep colors this year: Rich shades of green, petrol, and blue, as well as shining reds and yellows provided stark new contrasts. When these colors are combined with natural materials, wood, and plants, they create living spaces that seem to severe the ties with the pastel shades of the past. However, these soft, delicate hues have not been entirely upstaged. There were still plenty of pale copper hues and soft pink and azure shades, in particular, in combination with accessories and in the decorative areas.
